Lighting Designer

Alex spent five years as Kneehigh¹s Production Manager, including tours to Australia, China, New Zealand, Scandinavia and Syria.  During that time he visited many theatres ¬ some dreadful, some delightful.  This started an interest in designing theatres, which led to his current part-time job with Arup Venue Consulting. Lighting designs for Kneehigh include ‘Rapunzel', ‘Tristan & Yseult', outdoors and at the National Theatre, ‘Wagstaffe the Wind-up Boy', ‘The Wooden Frock', ‘The Red Shoes' and ‘The Riot'. Other designs include ‘Guilty Fingers' and ‘Blonde' (C-Scape Dance), ‘Etta Jenks' and ‘Achidi J¹s Final Hours' (Finborough), ‘Lonely Lives' (Union Theatre and BAC), ‘Send for Mr Plim' (BAC) and the launch party for this year¹s Architecture Biennale in Venice.
