We walked the seasons again, and as well as stories and workshops there were pop-up performances with well-known Kneehigh performers - with a duo of dancing crabs, a cosmos on fire, a death defying mini circus, a murderous but amorous conger eel and much much more!

Anna travelled the length and breadth of Cornwall. In rain, wind and shine her walks were launched with a free breakfast for all adventurers and a trumpeted salute from local artist Rob Higgs' chain reaction boat.

Spring 2013: Wadebridge Walk

We started off the year in Wadebridge with Anna Maria Murphy collecting stories. The Kneehigh Ramblers then returned to perform the stories with young people from Wadebridge performing a Scoot Dance they had been taught by Bec Applebee, accompanied by musicians from Dalla. The rain didn’t dampen our spirits as we headed back into the Ambulance Hall warmed by tea and saffron cake.

Bread and... Workshops at the barns

We invited four groups (Coastline Homeless Service, Carefree, Shallal and Early Intervention into Psychosis Team) up to the Barns for a series of Bread and Barns workshops. The workshops started with the group members making delicious bread together. They then took part in the workshops activity, either photography with Steve Tanner, creative writing with Anna and Seth Hampshire, or film making with Brett Harvey.

Summer 2013: Tristan & Yseult and Love Letters

In June we ran a series of Love Letter workshops with groups from across west Cornwall. 89 young people attended a workshop from Treyla, WILD, Penhaligon’s Friends, Shallal, Praze-an-Beeble Guides, and Hear Our Voice. The workshops included photography with Steve Tanner, drama with Simon Harvey, creative writing with Anna and Seth Hampshire, and singing with Mary Woodvine and Vicky Abbot.

In 2011 we held workshops for those people who received free tickets to the Asylum. We cooked, danced, built dens, sang songs, made and flew kites, invented scandals, talked politics both local and global, and turned turnips in to projectile missiles

Anna's Walks 2012

In 2012 Anna walked again, including a foraging and photography walk in West Penwith with Kneehigh photographer Steve Tanner, and a walk inspired by Steptoe in the Redruth/St Agnes area

Tickets 2012

In 2012, we worked with targeted groups and organisations in Cornwall to give away over 300 tickets to Steptoe & Son at the Asylum. It gave the opportunity for those who don't ordinarily get the chance, to visit the Asylum and in some cases, see their first ever theatre show.

Free & Subsidised Ticket Scheme

Each year, we give free tickets to targeted groups. These include young people, people who live in the least affluent parts of Cornwall, and a diverse mix of socially disadvantaged people
