Could you be a Story Republican? Training & Work Opportunity for Emerging Performers

The Story Republic are looking to recruit 4 Story Republicans this Spring and a further 4 in the Summer. The training project is aimed at emerging theatre performers who are interested in working in a variety of spaces from the street to galleries, castles to classrooms with a repertoire of songs, poems and short stories. You will need to be enthusiastic, at ease vocally and able to make yourself heard, keen to work in an ensemble, willing and able to sing and to be bold!

The Story Republicans are a team of talented, bright, engaging performers who create pop up performances at events and festivals.

Managed by Kernow Education Arts Partnership as part of The Story Republic, they perform on the street, in bandstands, on ferries and in fields, in galleries and cafes…

The Story Republicans have a repertoire of songs, poems and very short stories which are performed in 10-15 minute slots before they move on to other spaces. Some of their repertoire is familiar, other is newly commissioned. This year it all falls under the theme of ‘Trading Tales’.

The audition date is March 13th 2014

The training dates are March 31st and April 1st

The initial Story Republic installation is from 4-21st April in Truro
