Last year, we announced the exciting news that Emma Rice was to become the Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe in April 2016 and that Mike Shepherd would be Kneehigh's sole Artistic Director. Now the New Year is here, and Emma’s first season at The Globe has been announced; including two Kneehigh shows as part of our new status as Associate Company there.
The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk, a production with Bristol Old Vic, will be adding The Globe to its list of venues as it tours the UK, with runs in Bristol and Southampton already on sale. Written by Emma Rice and directed by Daniel Jamieson, the show delves into the loves and lives of artist Marc Chagall and his beloved wife Bella.
Last year’s Asylum show will also be making its way to London. 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips played to packed-out audiences at The Lost Gardens of Heligan last summer, and we’re thrilled that the show, which was co-adapted by author Michael Morpurgo himself, will be playing to London audiences
Tickets for both shows will be on sale very soon. Stay tuned!
