Have the lucky buttons worked their spell? An update from the USA and Mike Shepherd.
In 2002, Mike and the company took The Red Shoes to one of the most beautiful cities they’d ever visited: Aleppo, Syria. Since those days, the subsequent destruction has been heart-breaking, and our hearts reach out to those who continue to fight for their lives.
So far, with the kindness and generosity of our audiences in the USA, we’ve collected over a staggering $22,000 in aid of the American Refugee Committee, who currently have 2000 incredibly brave volunteers working with those in need. Their life-saving work is vital for those fleeing the violence in what was a vibrant and welcoming country.
You can continue to support the work of the American Refugee Committee and Help Refugees UK by donating and contributing to their work. We will be continuing to sell Lucky Buttons throughout the remainder of the US tour of 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips.
Find out how else you can help by taking a look at our past blog post.
Ps. The picture was taken during a welcome reception in Damascus as the company entered Syria.
