The Museum of Us

If you had to choose one object that represented an aspect of Cornwall, or told a story about your relationship to Cornwall, what would it be? A piece of pyrites from the mine? The programme from the village panto? A surfing trophy? Your granny’s recipe book?

WildWorks, in collaboration with Jane Darke and the Royal Cornwall Museum are working on an exciting project called THE MUSEUM OF US.

From Tuesday 28 May – Saturday 24 August 2013 they will be showcasing a cabinet of ‘Cornish-ness’ full of personal objects and stories,  in the main gallery at the Royal Cornwall Museum.

The Museum of Us team are at The Royal Cornwall Museum, River Street, Truro all this week until Saturday 1st June 2-4pm receiving objects from visitors. If you bring in an object you also get free entry to the musem

Have you got something for the cabinet?

If you had to choose one object that represented an aspect of Cornwall, or told a story about your relationship to Cornwall, what would it be? A piece of pyrites from the mine? The programme from the village panto? A surfing trophy? Your granny’s recipe book?

All objects will be photographed and put into the ledger with accompanying story. Some objects will be selected to go on display.

We know it's hard to choose just one thing, but if you could we'd be thrilled, ideally not a book or a photograph as they're hard to display well.

Your object would be looked after in museum conditions for three months and can be collected at the end of August.
