Fastburn

National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, produced in association with Kneehigh  present Fastburn - a Free Performanc project.

Hell is on strike. The demons are on a walk out. The cheeky little devils have put down their tools, got on their rusty bicycles and, hot from hell, they have pedalled their way to your doorstep.

It is a time of drought. One tinder-dry month has been followed by another; kindling is stacking up in dusty corners and now, as people rub up against one another, the sparks are beginning to fly. It is a place that breeds suspicion. The fire-starters are rubbing their sooty hands together. This is the perfect place to light a fire. This is the perfect place to burn down to the ground.

The exciting partnership between Kneehigh and the NYT returned for an incendiary tale of man's inability to control his own fate.

For years Kneehigh have produced brilliant work for the outdoors, taking inspiration from the environment and telling stories under the open skies. This story was told at the Scoop- in the very heart of the capital, overlooking the Thames, with a backdrop of gleaming glass and chrome buildings, it was an ideal setting for this combustible gem. The creative process started, as all Kneehigh shows do, in Cornwall. All these ingredients were mixed together to produce a hot-house of creativity that allowed Fastburn to ignite and blaze.
