Gorran School Wind Project

Kneehigh were commissioned by Gorran School to devise workshops and a performance-event to celebrate the new wind turbine that has been installed in the school’s grounds.

Throughout the week, Kneehigh company members worked with over 100 of the school’s children, running workshops on storytelling with Anna Maria Murphy and Emma Rice, dance with Helen Tiplady and making wind-powered sculptures created by Paul Spooner and Mike Shepherd.

One early summers evening, the school celebrated the opening of the wind turbine as the children performed a procession with wind-socks, and sang and danced brilliantly. Kneehigh friends The Baghdaddies gave the evening’s events tuneful accompaniment.
