Mevagissey Feast Week

Less than three miles separates Kneehigh’s rehearsal barns at Gorran Haven and the harbour town of Mevagissey. At the end of June each year, Mevagissey celebrates Feast Week, a Cornish tradition based upon the celebrations of St. Peter’s Day (St. Peter is the Patron Saint of fishermen). The week-long festival features choral concerts, flora dances and processions, and – one year – Kneehigh.
With their friends, Newcastle band The Baghdaddies, Kneehigh planned to perform at Meva’s harbour, but extreme weather conditions forced the performance inside. Still, a fantastic crowd turned-up to see the resurrection of characters from Kneehigh’s acclaimed show ‘Blast!’
