Gift Aid
If you tick the Gift Aid box you make your donation worth more to us - at no extra cost to you! Hurrah!
Gift Aid was introduced by the government in 1990. It allows registered charities like Kneehigh to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on your donations through Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax (to be able to tick the box, you must pay Income and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equivalent to the amount that we will reclaim).
What this means is that for every £1 you donate, we can get an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue. So, we can claim an extra £7.50 for a Friend's donation, an extra £15 for an Accomplice's donation, and an extra £45 if you become a Champion!
And, if you're a higher rate taxpayer, you too can benefit by ticking the Gift Aid box. You are able to claim back the difference between the lower rate of tax that we reclaim and the higher rate of tax that you have actually paid. So, if you decide to become a member of the Kneehigh FAMILY by donating £500, it will be worth £625 to us and yet will only cost you £375.
You only need to tick the box once, and it makes a huge difference to us. If you would like any more information, please see the HMRC website, or contact Matt on matt@kneehigh.co.uk.
