Gift Aid

Gift Aid was introduced by the government in 1990. It allows registered charities like Kneehigh to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on any charitable donations you make. To be eligible for Gift Aid, you must pay Income and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equivalent to the amount that Kneehigh will reclaim.

What this means is that for every £1 donated, we can potentially get an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue - at no extra cost to you! So, we can claim an extra £7.50 for a Friend's donation, an extra £15 for an Accomplice's donation, and an extra £45 if you become a Champion!

And, if you're a higher rate taxpayer, you too can benefit. You could be able to claim back the difference between the lower rate of tax that Kneehigh will reclaim and the higher rate of tax that you have actually paid. So, if you are a higher rate taxpayer and decide to become a member of the Kneehigh FAMILY by donating £500, it will be worth £625 to us and yet will only cost you £375.
