Join us for the launch of a new story-walk app featuring local stories from St Austell.
Exhibition open from 11am. Walk starts at 2pm.
Since 2010, writer and Kneehigh associate artist Anna Murphy has been walking the roads less travelled in Cornwall, collecting and wildly exaggerating the stories she finds along the way.
Throughout this very special free event at White River Place there will be opportunities to join a guided story walk around St Austell, enjoy an exhibition of stories collected from across Cornwall, and the chance to try out a brand new digital storytelling experiment, as well as live storytelling from Kneehigh artists.
We’ll be taking a short stroll along the story-walk route in small groups. We’ll help you download the app beforehand if needed and get you on your way. Bring your smartphone and headphones.
11am Exhibition Open – drop in at anytime. 2pm Walk With Us! You can download and enjoy the app at any time but Kneehigh volunteers will be setting off with small groups from 2pm. So if you would prefer to walk with us please do come along. From 3.30pm Live story-telling, tea and cake.
If you don’t want to or can’t do the walk, you can listen to the stories on the app from wherever you are in ‘armchair mode’.
This is a free event and you are welcome to drop in throughout the day, but so that we have enough tea and cake for everyone, please let us know if you are coming along, by following the link and booking a ticket.
